Retail chain
Retail chain stores are outlets which are part of a huge retail investment, a brand and central management. It usually consists of standard business practices and methods. they are part of a business chain. Such stores are owned by a company or a franchise (a local individual) that operate under contract with main branch of the company. These retail shops are easy to operate and control rather than to have a huge market area. Since these retail shops are small, so it need a proper attention to serve many people. These retail shops must be carefully planned, designed and constructed by the architects, because mistake in any of these phases will a mess in construction. so the role of the retail architects comes in all the phases to develop and implement retail outlets
The benefits of these retail outlets may be in the form of economics, lower operating costs, and higher profits.
Consumption
It measure happiness of purchaser and usefulness of materials. the consumption of material totally depend upon the environment where selling is taking place, since the design of retail shops decides environment factors of material and environment factors decide the maintenance cost of material, so these factors automatically decide the consumption of material or goods. Sometimes due to environment factors products or material destroyed or become unhygienic, so these environment factors must be consider while designing any retail shop
Merchandising
Merchandising refers to methods, and operations to promote and maintain all commercial activity. merchandising is highly affected by retail architect practices which make influence in every phase and practice of merchandising, These activities of retail design directly affects retail space, so the other practices like sell and purchase will definitely get affected by these practices. These factors together come to calculate profit or loss, so from this example one can see the impact of retail space in profit or loss calculation. sometimes due to uneven construction or wrong implementation of design it may not possible to sell all or some part of stock, so in this way merchandising is directly affected by the practices of retail design.
