IT Architecture
IT Architecture, i.e. Information Technology Architecture, is the basic design that is implemented, developed, maintained and used to explain and guide on how does the IT and information management work together efficiently complete the mission of the organization. IT architecture is regarded to the business activities and processes, data sets and information flows, software, application and technology. The architecture is not limited to hardware and software issues. Also, having an IT architecture helps in realization of specific goals, but it does not mean that you must change all the systems, etc. immediately. The main object of an IT architecture is to forecast and the plan of how the organization will bring a new variety in targets over a period of time.
IT architecture can also be defined as a set of properly organized consensus decisions on the principle and policies with services and proper solutions, with specific vendor products used by IT providers who are both in the Information Technology Branch and outside. One of the major lines connected with preparing an IT Architecture is the process of achieving the best decisions. It is also found that arriving on a unanimous decision may restrict the purchase and design options. It may enhance the inter operation system. With the IT Architecture the best and a unanimous decision can be reached and with the unanimous decision the organization can achieve the best results for the organization.
The following are the prime objectives that are guided by the IT Architecture:
1. The Architectural decisions should help benefit the department's mission.
2. The Architecture serves in a variety of environments.
3. The benefit is greater when decisions taken are unanimous.
4. The Architecture should point out the areas that are stable without forgetting the essential innovation.
5. The Architectural decisions must provide enough documentation to support the compliance of any specific implementation.
The main and the most basic purpose of the IT Architecture is to guide the process of IT resources like planning, acquiring, building, modifying, interfacing and deploying without bias throughout the department.
